With no dearth of creativity, many people enjoyed making designs on their finger and toe nails.
In the year 1932, a French company called Revlon, introduced a nail enamel product. This product was manufactured in a very unique process using pigments. So special was this product that, it offered the women a wide variety of rich colors. To support this, a large number of professional manicurists were available, who could make each nail look different from the other. So, was born the modern nail art with the ever favorite perfect French manicure and pedicure with manicure being a treatment that is done on hands to make it look beautiful and pedicure the same way for legs, since ages we have both the sexes who enjoyed this cosmetic treatment and its goodness.

Since the origin of nail art pearl essence was obtained from herring. This is also one of the many by products from large scale processing of fish commercially. But this is very rarely used these days due to the incurrence of high cost and fragility factors of this colorant product. To substitute this naturally mined minerals such as Mica and Titanium. Mica, a translucent substance is coated with a thin film of titanium dioxide.
Today as new trends are taking birth and people willing to experiment with anything and everything in the name of fashion, nail arts have definitely found its place in the cosmetic industry. Application of gels, acrylic and artificial nails are done in nail salons by manicurists and professionals. This can get even fancier with the manicurist going according to the customer’s wishes in including designs and jewels. Centuries ago the Chinese were rich enough to decorate their nails with Silver!!! These gels and acrylic paints can be obtained from natural and organic pigments or rust (iron oxide).
